Protection and Rehabilitation Districts are established under Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 33, and, as stated goals, aims to "improve or protect the quality of public inland lakes and [compile] basic scientific data on lakes of this state" as well as assess "experimental and innovative techniques of lake rehabilitation and protection."
